The Agentic Grand Prix 2026

The era of campaign execution is over. Uplift: The Agentic Grand Prix was built around a single question for the room: what does customer engagement actually look like when intelligent systems plan, execute and optimise the journey, continuously and on their own? We call it agentic commerce, and we staged the day like a race, with five sessions run as five laps of the same circuit, each one picking up the last speaker's thread.

If you were in the room, thank you. If you couldn't make it, here's what stuck.

Your next era of customer engagement starts in Melbourne.

Lap 1 · The Second Customer

Mark set the frame for the whole day: your shopper increasingly sends an agent instead of showing up themselves. Utility missions get chosen by a machine. Discovery missions get remembered by a person. The brands that win build for both, and stop assuming there's only one shopper on the other end.

Lap 2 · Pit Stop to Podium

Leela walked through what transformation actually takes: replatforming, relaunching loyalty, and leading a team through sustained change. The unglamorous work is the precondition. Nothing runs autonomously on top of a mess.

Lap 3 · The Invisible Shelf

Bevan picked up Mark's thread on machine-chosen missions: when large language models and agents decide what gets found, product data becomes the most strategic asset in your eCommerce stack. Optimising for a search results page is yesterday's game. Optimise to be the thing the machine recommends.

Lap 4 · Trading at the Speed of Data

Sarah runs marketing, eCommerce and trading off one intelligence layer. Most teams have the data. Far fewer have shortened the distance between a signal arriving and someone doing something about it.

Lap 5 · Faster Decisions Are Not Better Decisions

The closing lap, on trust. As journeys become autonomous, the last mile matters most: every agentic decision needs to be accountable, measurable and explainable. Customers still judge a brand one message at a time.

Checkered flag · Dave Thornton closes the day

Five laps of agentic commerce, then the room got to laugh. Stand-up comedian Dave Thornton closed out the day, sending everyone into Happy Hour still grinning.

Even the people in the room couldn't be everywhere at once. A few things worth knowing about:

The Uplift Grand Prix pit-stop card. Delegates carried an F1-themed sticker card through four stops (a coffee stop with Kudosity, a Partners Lounge conversation with Talon. One, a free professional headshot at The Grid Shot, and the Insider One booth) for a shot at three prizes: a pair of smart glasses, New Balance sneakers, and an F1-style race car drive experience. Over 100+ completed cards went into the draw, and three delegates walked away with a prize.

Plus professional headshots, taken on the day at The Grid Shot booth.
